2. Local Storage

The app uses your device's local storage to temporarily cache asteroid data fetched from NASA/JPL, reducing load times on repeat visits. This data:

Never leaves your device
Contains only public NASA/JPL scientific data (no personal information)
Expires automatically after 24 hours
Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser or app data

3. Cookies

No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies are used.

4. Third-Party Services

NEO Observatory uses the following external services to deliver its features. Each has its own privacy policy:

NASA/JPL CNEOS — near-Earth object data (public API, no key required)
Pexels — daily hero background photo
Vercel — app hosting and anonymous traffic analytics

These services receive only the minimum information required to function. No personally identifiable information is shared with them.

5. Children

NEO Observatory is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
